Dr. Ross Ainslie Dr. Ross Ainslie has looking after Halifax's pets for over 50 years . 'Doc' is an Ontario Veterinary College graduate, is very active in all facets of veterinary medicine and is current in all the latest technology such as cryosurgery and laser surgery. |  View |
Dr. James Gillis Dr Gillis did his undergraduate work at Dalhousie, is a 1993 Atlantic Veterinary College grad and has been with Spryfield Animal Hospital ever since. Dr. Gillis works hard to support his family and fuzzy friend Schooner - a big goofy Black Lab ! |  View |
Dr. Laura M Speer , D.V.M. OVC 2000 Dr Speer can be found at Spryfield Animal Hospital and has been with us since last summer. Although really from Ontario, after a couple of years working in Newfoundland I think she can be considered an honourary Maritimer ! Dr. Speer has 2 cats, Frank and Toby and a dog Nancy. |  View |
Dr. Michael West , B.Sc. Dalhousie University 1989, DVM Atlantic Veterinary College 1994, MRCVS Certificate Veterinary Dermatology Dr. West is a fairly recent addition to Ainslie Animal Hospitals but it already feels as if we've known him for years. He and his family have recently returned from 8 years in England and he brings back with him 2 English cats - Bryn and Rhyl , a charming accent and scads of experience.
Dr West can be found at either the Spryfield or the Fariview location, or pedalling furiously on his mountain bike somewhere in between ! |  View |
Dr. Suzette Dibblee , D.V.M. Atlantic Veterinary College 1998 Dr. Dibblee had wanted to be a Veterinarian ever since she could remember. 5 years into her chosen profession she loves her job more every day. She is a native Haligonian, loves the outdoors and romping with her 2 dogs !! |  View |
Dr. Adrienne Harris - Dain , D.V.M. Atlantic Veterinary College 1997 Dr. Harris-Dain was born and raised in New Brunswick and has been with Fariview Animal Hospital since 2000. She has always wanted to work with animals and has 'no regrets - even on those difficult days' of chosing this profession. She currently shares her home with 3 cats, 1 dog ..... and her husband ! |  View |
Dr. Mary Jane Corkum Dr. Corkum is usually found at Halifax Vet on Quinpool Road or busy at home with her 2 small children !
Dr. Kelly McInnis , B.Sc. Dalhousie 1993, DVM Atlantic Veterinary College 1997 Dr. McInnis is a full time fixture at our Quinpool Road location. She is a born and raised Haligonian and has covered most of this city, if not the whole province, on foot as she enjoys hiking and exploring with her sidekicks Brody and Sherman. |  View |
Management
Mr. Peter Ainslie , B.BA MSV 1988 , CVPM 2000 Peter is, of course, Dr. Ainslie's son and is the Manager of all three practices. Peter holds a certification as a Veterinary Practice Manager and is the current North American President of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association.
He has 2 kids, Carissa and Michael, 3 cats and a big dog named Shilo. Peter's main office is Fairview Animal Hospital but he is usually somewhere between the three clinics. |  View |
Ms. Arlene Van Leeuwen , A.S.T. 1987 N.S.A.C. Asst Manager - Spryfield Animal Hospital Arlene has been with Dr Ainslie and Spryfield Animal Hospital many years and is the Assistant Manager there. She functions in every and any capacity in the hospital and still finds time for all the administrative duties as well. Her treasured cat Ivan welcomes her home at the end of the day, as does her husband Hunter.... of course ! |  View |
Ms. Peggy Ainslie Most of you, regardless of which Hospital you attend , will recognize Peggy. She has been the face and voice of all hospitals for many years, but mostly concentrates her efforts at the Fairview branch these days. |  View |
Ms. Margo J Johnson , Controller Margo is the bean counter for all three clinics. Margo joined our team in June 2005, bringing with her several years experience in the accounting field. You can always find Margo at her office located at our Fairview clinic.
When Margo is not at the office she can be found at home with her husband-Donald, and two children- Jesse(18) and Morgan(14). The Johnson's recently adopted 'Manee' a Miniature Pinscher(1 1/2 yrs old) and have two cats Mittens (7), and Foo-Foo (6), and a Japanese Fighting fish called Red.

Darlene has been the face of Spryfield Animal Hospital for many years. Now she can be found at our Fairview Clinic assisting Margo in all Accounting aspects. She and her husband, Bill, also look after Dr. Ainslie's farm and crematorium in Shubenacadie where they have many cats and a new dog named Chubby - and a horse, Diamond ! |

Technician
Ms. Allison M Nichols , B.Sc. Agr. (Animal Science) N.S.A.C. 1995 Allison actually began her veterinary 'career' with Dr Ainslie way back in 1986 ! True to the circular nature of time she found herself back with Dr. Ainslie in 2002 at Spryfield Animal Hospital.
Allison has 2 recently adopted cats , Gerbil and Dora, and a small daughter named Aidan who just turned 3.

Ms. Lisa Faulkner Lisa is a recent grad of the MBC Veterinary Assistant program and is currently helping out full time at Spryfield Animal Hospital. She has 4 (!!) cats at home now - Jack, Angus, Lemmy and Dakota. |  View |
Connie Boudreau Connie joined the Ainslie Animal Hospital team in 1995 and can usually be found at the Quinpool Road location. She has 3 pets named Eggbert, Gwendolyn and Lenny. |  View |

Stephanie Callahan Stephanie joined our team in May 2004 immediately after graduating from the Veterinarian Assistant program at the Maritime Business College. She did her work placement at Fairview Animal Hospital, and worked there for a year after that before transferring to Halifax Veterinary Hospital and has remained there ever since.
When Stephanie is not caring for the animals at work, she is caring for her furry felines at home. She currently has 3 orange tabbys Kotter-3yrs, Thomas-14yrs, Ned-2yr, and 1 Dilute Torti named Kayce-7yrs. Recently Stephanie welcomed her newest addition to her family, her new bay filly named Topaz.
